It is more difficult and I really needed the hints several times. The details are amazing and the puzzles are incredible. Personally I find 20€ too much for 7h play time. Great puzzle game - If you liked 'The Room' definitely get this game aswell to satiate your lust for puzzles!!. The House of Da Vinci is a giant puzzle game that is much like The Room... on steroids. You're an apprentice to the master, Leonardo Da Vinci, and he has gone missing. It's your job to find him.Pros:Graphics are very goodDozens upon dozens of puzzlesPuzzles range from easy to hardWell optimizedSeveral hours of gameplayHint systemCons:About half of the hints state the obvious and therefore are worthlessMost of the game is pixel huntingVery linearAtrocious controlsThe ending was very disappointingEvery single puzzle in this game is well thought out and has a logical solution. I liked the hint system built into the game, it saved me a quite of bit of time pixel hunting. However, many of the hints are worthless because the tell you things you already know. If you're a hardcore gamer who loves a challenge though, you have the option to turn off the hint system. There are three things about this game that I really didn't care for. First, there is tons of pixel hunting, which I am not a fan of. You have to keep a sharp eye at all times which is hard to do for hours on end. Second, your movement is restricted. There are only certain ways the game will allow you to view an item, so if you want to see something from a different angle, forget it, it won't happen. Third, and possibly the most frustrating thing about this game is the controls. Oh Lord how I hate these controls. If you don't like your X/Y axis inverted, then you're going to hate this. No matter what you do, your axis will be inverted for closeups or standing back. Let me try to explain.If you are looking around a room, your axis are inverted by default. There is a option in the menu that allows you to turn it off but you'll soon find out when you get close to an item in order to get a better look, your axis will be inverted again. When you step back, it'll go back to normal. I hated that most of all.At the time of this review, The House of Da Vinci was selling for $19.99. I'm glad that I got this game on sale because I only logged in about 10 hours of puzzle solving. However, at half off, it's well worth it.. The House of Da Vinci is well worth the buy. If you're familiar with The Room series, you'll be right at home with Da Vinci. Although not as elegantly designed as The Room series what better venue to set this game than in Leonardo Da Vinci's workshop with all its Renaissance contraptions. A few of the puzzles seem a bit clumsy, but that slight flaw can be overlooked because the game play overall is interesting. Highly recommended.
